The International Society for the Scholarship of Teaching & Learning Inaugural Conference will be held on the campus of
Indiana University, located close to downtown Bloomington, Indiana.

The IU-Bloomington campus is a careful blend of traditional and modern architecture within a park-like environment. Made of locally quarried limestone, the University buildings add beauty and charm to the scenic campus. Bloomington offers the charm of a small town and the sophistication of a cultural capital with international caliber performance in opera, music and theater. Local restaurants include an impressive array of ethnic cuisine, many within comfortable walking distance of campus. All conference workshops, plenary and concurrent session will be held in the Indiana Memorial Union (www.imu.indiana.edu). Most food and social functions will also be centered in the IMU or within a short walking distance. The Indiana Memorial Union is the host hotel of IS-SOTL. Bloomington is always on Eastern Standard Time. At the time of the Conference, Bloomington will be on the same time as New York City and one hour ahead of Chicago, Illinois. Temperatures in south-central Indiana during the middle of October are typically in the low eighties during the day and the low sixties during the night. We suggest that you bring layered clothing to adjust to seasonal changes in temperatures that can occur during this time of year.
